Details emerge regarding simultaneous SWAT team drug busts at local hotel, camper trailer

According to an incident report from May 28, after obtaining a search warrant, 18 Trinidad Police officers, including SWAT, conducted search warrants and uncovered four guns, $41,612.00 in a duffle bag, 946.7 grams worth of narcotics, which included fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and more at the Budget Host hotel on 9800 Santa Fe Trail Dr with a subsequent search of the suspects’ residence at 307 Jackson Street, on May 9.

On March 7, Governor Polis, along with many prominent state and community leaders, including Senate President Steve Fenberg, rode an inspection train from Union Station in Denver to Longmont to demonstrate the feasibility of the Front Range Passenger Rail, indicating a significant step of the long-promised idea of connecting all of Colorado by rail, including Trinidad and Raton, a reality.
