The Third Judicial District Access to Justice Committee is sponsoring a free Legal Resource Day at Space to Create, 204 W. Main Street in Trinidad, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24.
The event allows participants to schedule a free one-on-one appointment with a volunteer attorney, or attend an expert led seminar on topics including foreclosures, guardianship and protective proceedings, or family law.
Attendees can call to make an appointment to meet with an attorney for free. Attorney’s will be available for 20-minute consultations for topics that include:
• Courtroom procedures
• Collections and garnishments
• Divorce, Custody, Child Support
• Estate Planning
• Guardianship and Conservatorship
• How to seal a case
• Landlord-tenant issues
• Small Claims

Said organizers, “Come down to the Space to Create and review your questions and/or case information in a confidential setting. Be organized with your materials and identify your questions to make the most of your time with free legal resources. The Department of Human Services will be in attendance with information about LEAP sign up, DHS benefits and child support.”
