RAD Dirt Fest fills downtown Trinidad, area gravel-ways with bikes, hopeful riders

Nearly 700 gravel bike racer descended on Trinidad last weekend for this year’s RAD Dirt Fest. The 110 mile race had 172 entrants. The 70 mile race saw 315 riders and the 40 mile race was filled by 188 excited participants. Cole Davis, a 26-year-old from California, won the full-course race with a time of 5 hours, 24 minutes and 53 seconds, covering the 110 miles at an average speed of 20.93 mile per hour. Lauren De Crescenzo was the first woman to finish the full course in a time of 6:01:45. The 35-year-old from Broomfield, Colo., averaged 18.79 mph over the course.

International award-winning poet speaks on Trinidad’s literary festival  

Last weekend, from Sept. 19 to 20, Create Trinidad hosted its 2025 “Get Lit” literary festival, featuring many prominent authors from various locations. One of the headline writers and workshop hosts, award-winning poet Juan Morales, shared his thoughts on Trinidad becoming a hub for the regional writing community and the favorable impact of the arts.

‘Garbage Glam’ returns to Main St. Live Saturday

Garbage Glam, a “low” fashion show will be held at Main Street Live at 7 p.m. Sept 13. The show features clothing made from up-cycled or recycled materials. There will be a silent auction and lots of surprises, promises organizers. Admission is a $10 tax deductible cash, or checks made out to benefit the Somebody Cares Food Project.
